Beijing Youth Politics College (BJYPC) is a general higher education institution under the jurisdiction of Beijing Municipality. It was established in 1986 on the basis of the former Beijing Municipal Youth League School, with the college name personally inscribed by Comrade Deng Xiaoping. In 2022, the college was separated from the Beijing Municipal Youth League School and became a full-time general higher education institution directly administered by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission. In 2025, the college was selected as a construction institution for Phase II of the national “High-Level Vocational Colleges and Majors Construction Plan” (Double-High Plan). The college adheres to the positioning of a high-level, distinctive, and international-oriented higher vocational education institution, upholds the principles of emphasizing politics, educating youth, and valuing humanities, focuses on Beijing's "Four Centers" functional positioning and the construction of "Two Zones," and develops program clusters in government service and grassroots governance, elderly health care and early-childhood well-being, digital-intelligent cultural creativity, digital-intelligent finance, and international cultural tourism. The college aims to cultivate high-quality interdisciplinary skilled talents who are politically reliable, professionally competent, digitally and intelligently integrated, internationally minded, and cooperative.

The college currently comprises six schools: the School of Government Services and Grassroots Governance, the School of Elderly Health Care and Early-childhood Well-being, the School of Digital-Intelligent Cultural Creativity, the School of Digital-Intelligent Finance, the School of International Cultural Tourism, and the School of Marxism. In addition, there are a Center for Humanities Quality Education and a School of Continuing Education. The college has nearly 3,100 full-time students and approximately 500 adult education students. There are 316 faculty and staff members, of whom 47.4% of the full-time teachers hold senior professional titles, 95.4% hold a master's degree or higher, and 26.3% hold a doctoral degree. The college has one national-level curriculum-based ideological and political education teaching team, and eight Beijing teaching innovation teams and professional innovation teams. The college boasts one National Vocational Education Master Teacher of the New-Era (awarded by the Ministry of Education), seven national-level Master Teachers of Curriculum-based Ideological and Political Education, one National Model Woman for Outstanding Professional Performance, one Beijing-level Candidate under the New Century Talents Project, one Beijing Outstanding Worker, three Beijing Outstanding Teachers, two Winners of the Beijing March 8th Red-Banner Bearer, three Beijing Top-notch Young Talents, four Beijing Municipal Teaching Masters, four Beijing Vocational Education Masters, one Teaching Master under the Beijing High-end Innovation Talent Program, four Professional Leaders of Beijing Vocational College , 36 Beijing Young Backbone Teachers, and nine Young Outstanding Talents of Beijing Institutions of Higher Education.

The college has achieved remarkable results in fostering virtue and cultivating talents and has persistently worked to create the “Flint” brand for fostering virtue through education. Strengthen the “main classroom” for young people featuring the Party’s innovative theories, cultivate the 'grand classroom' of vivid practical education throughout Beijing, activate the “new classroom” for digital-era online education, and nurture the “aesthetic classroom” for cultural education. The “Flint Project” Patriotic Education Base was selected as one of the first-batch New-Era Civilization Practice Bases by municipal-level departments in Beijing. The “Flint Project” has received the 7th Capital University Student Ideological and Political Work Effectiveness Award. The "Consortium for Integrated Ideological and Political Education for Primary, Secondary, and Higher Education on Chinese Modernization" has been named among Beijing's first batch of Regional Demonstration and Innovation Consortia for integrated ideological and political education across educational levels.  

The college boasts distinct program characteristics. For 2026, it offers 23 full-time programs. The “Digital Media Art Design Program Cluster” is a national “Double-High” program cluster, including Digital Media Art Design, News Gathering and Editing, Converged-Media Technology and Operation, Game Art Design, and Computer Application Technology. The Early Childhood Education Program, Tourism English Program, and Media Technology Program Cluster are Beijing municipal-level high-level characteristic backbone programs (clusters) for vocational colleges. The Smart Health and Elderly Care Service and Management Program is a national demonstration program for vocational colleges. The Early Childhood Education Program is a national backbone program. The Tourism English (Entry-Exit Service and Management) Program achieved the sole top A+ level rating nationwide in the GDI Assessment of Vocational College Programs (2023-2025). The college was the first among vocational colleges nationwide to file an application for the establishment of the Governmental Services Program, pioneering the "Beijing Model" for cultivating talents specialized in government services and grassroots governance through professional-standardized and career-oriented training. In the “Golden Apple” China Higher Vocational College Competitiveness Rankings, the college consistently ranks first in Beijing and second nationally for language-related programs.

The college possesses strong core capabilities in running educational programs. Since 2022, it has won 17 municipal-level vocational education teaching achievement awards, led the compilation of 4 Ministry of Education program teaching standards and program profiles, obtained approval for 6 Beijing municipal education and teaching reform projects, and was accredited with 7 municipal-level high-quality online courses, 3 municipal-level program (cluster) teaching resource libraries, and 5 model courses for curriculum-based ideological and political education. The college faculty have served as chief  editors for 6 national textbooks under the “14th Five-Year Plan,” and the course College Chinese has been accredited as a national-level model course for curriculum-based ideological and political education. In total, the college has won 13 first prizes, 18 second prizes, and 21 third prizes in the Beijing Vocational College Teachers’ Teaching Competence Competition. Students have won awards in the finals of the World Vocational College Skills Competition in events including Art Design, Journalism and Communication, Health and Elderly Care, Early Childhood Education Skills, Infant Health and Care, and Tour Guide Service. For four consecutive years, the college took first prizes in the National Vocational College Skills Competition in the events including "Cloud Security Technology Application," "Embedded Product Development," "Information Security Management and Assessment," and "Software Testing." 

The college further promotes industry-education integration as well as school-enterprise cooperation. It has taken the lead in establishing the "Beijing Municipal Elderly Care Industry-Education Consortium" and the "Beijing Digital-Intelligent Cultural and Creative Industry-Education Consortium". It has also founded four industry-education integration communities: the "National Smart Health and Elderly Care Service and Management Industry-Education Integration Community," the "AIGC Digital Cultural and Creative Industry-Education Integration Community," the "Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Integrated Early Childhood Care Industry-Education Integration Community," and the "International Cultural and Tourism Service Industry-Education Integration Community." The college has established a series of industry-oriented colleges including the International Cultural and Tourism Service Trade Industry College, Beijing Preschool Education Vocational Education Group, School of Social Work, Digital Cultural and Creative Industry College, and Digital-Intelligent Finance Industry College. It also operates two national-level bases: the Information and Media Arts Productive Training Base and the "Dual-Competence" Teacher Training Base for Preschool Education, as well as three municipal-level vocational college high-level practical training bases with distinctive features: the Financial Street Hui’ai Early Childhood Development Engineer College, Donghua Software Smart Elderly Care Engineer College, and Wang Yuechuan Traditional Culture Education and Promotion Studio. These efforts have built an in-depth industry-education integration framework characterized by sound interaction and complementary strengths between college and enterprises.

The college demonstrates robust capacity for organized research. It hosts three municipal-level research institutes: Beijing Youth Research Institute, Beijing Oriental Ethics Research Institute, and Beijing Vocational Education and Humanistic-Beijing Research Center. In 2013, the Beijing Youth Education and Development Research Base was approved as a Beijing Municipal Philosophy and Social Science Research Base. In 2025, the college won three first-prize, three second-prize, and one third-prize awards in the 12th Beijing Outstanding Teaching and Research Achievements Awards for Vocational Education. The college also sponsors the journal Beijing Youth Research. 

The college features distinctive internationalized education, deeply serving the national "Belt and Road" initiative and Beijing's plan for the opening-up of vocational education. Centered on "Chinese Language + Vocational Skills" model, it has co-established Overseas Silk Road Youth Colleges and actively built platforms for vocational education global outreach. To date, the college has established stable cooperative relationships with universities and educational institutions in more than 30 countries and regions worldwide, promoting the implementation of inter-institutional credits recognition and creating overseas progression pathways for students to advance from junior college to bachelor's and from junior college to master's programs. It has nurtured the "Study at BJYPC" brand, expanding programs for international students in China, overseas faculty training, and Sino-foreign cooperative education programs. The college has hosted multiple sessions of the Silk Road Craftsmen International Skills Competition and actively participated in events such as the World Vocational and Technical Education Development Conference and the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), showcasing the achievements in vocational education internationalization.

The college is well-equipped in terms of facilities. It has established off-campus training bases covering all programs. The library has a rich and comprehensive collection, achieving IT-based management. It holds nearly 580,000 printed books, over 170 Chinese and foreign printed newspapers and periodicals, more than 1.23 million e-books, over 650,000 electronic journals, over 6.97 million dissertations, more than 50,000 hours of audio and video resources, and more than ten electronic databases, fully meeting the teaching and research needs of all faculty and students.

All faculty and students uphold the college motto "Diligent in Learning, Thoughtful in Inquiry, Virtuous in Conduct, and Practical in Action," striving to build the college into a high-level vocational college with distinct characteristics and national-wide influence, contributing BJYPC strength to the capital's goal of basically achieving modernization ahead of schedule.
